a wide-ranging, 51-minute interview on China's Tom.com,
Zhiwei Tu
describes his passion to complete ten epic murals of historic Chinese
events, personages, and lore. He took time away to answer the call to
head up the Oil Painters of America for two years, but with half of them now completed, Mr. Tu says
it may take another ten years to complete the project so he "can
rest in peace." How does he maintain the intensity, energy and
creativity to work more ten years on a single project? "Many of the
world's largest paintings took ten years to be painted by masters," he
reminds us.
