Portrait Demo by Zhiwei Tu

On February 17, 2007 the internationally renown artist, Zhiwei Tu, came to the Mainstreet Art Centre to give a three hour demonstration of portrait painting.  He worked from a live model in 25 minute sessions, with short breaks during which he answered questions from the audience.  The demonstration was attended by roughly 50 artists.  A large number of his books were sold, which Mr. Tu graciously signed for the purchasers.  The finished portrait was sold at the end of the demonstration by a drawing held between several interested attendees.
